Asian SCCs/BECs Gathering of Friends
The Asian SCCs/BECs Gathering of Friends brings together people involved in Small Christian Communities (SCCs) and Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs) across Asia. It offers an open space to reconnect, listen to one another, share experiences, and explore how we can support one another in nurturing SCCs/BECs in our local Churches.
We recognize the importance of SCCs/BECs in building a synodal Church and hope to strengthen connections among those who accompany and serve these communities in different countries and dioceses. By sharing our experiences, challenges, hopes, and needs, we can learn from one another and explore possibilities for mutual support and collaboration.
Through online gatherings, prayer, sharing the Word of God, and conversation, we seek to listen to one another and discern together how SCCs/BECs can continue to grow as communities of communion, participation, and mission.
Our gathering is informal and flexible, without a fixed organizational structure. We welcome different experiences, perspectives, and initiatives, allowing our collaboration to develop through mutual trust, shared commitment, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
We warmly welcome those involved in SCCs/BECs, as well as those who accompany and support them, to join this journey of friendship and shared discernment. By staying connected and learning from one another, we hope to encourage and support the growth of SCCs/BECs across Asia, contributing to a more synodal and missionary Church.
